Tom Laird, President
Tom Laird began his career as a union carpenter. After five years in the field, he returned to school to obtain his degree in construction management and engineering from Purdue University. During the past 20 years, Tom has specifically worked as an estimator and project manager in general and restoration contracting, specializing in exterior masonry and concrete restoration.
Darin Mehrings, Senior Project Manager
Darin Mehrings began his career as a draftsman for Klein and Hoffman, Consulting and Restoration Engineers. While employed at Klein and Hoffman, Darin attended the University of Illinois to obtain his degree in engineering. After 11 years at K&H, Darin continued his career with Structure Evaluation Engineers for a period of 4 years..
Darin then began to focus on construction rather than engineering, and subsequently worked for a Chicago area restoration contractor in the field, while also assisting in operations prior to joining LS Contracting Group in 1999.
John Pora, Project Manager and Director of Field Operations
John Pora graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in construction engineering while working as a layout engineer. During the last 25 years, John has worked in various construction management roles throughout the Chicagoland area on projects ranging from industrial/engineering, municipal buildings, office retail, residential and healthcare facilities.
Maria Lobo - Corey, Controller
Maria Lobo - Corey has 25 years of accounting experience in the construction industry. During her career, she has been involved in the financial accounting management for a broad spectrum of projects. These projects range from extensive core and shell construction to fast-track specialty commercial tenant build-outs. During her tenure with LS Contracting Group, Maria successfully implemented the Timberline accounting software and developed effective company policies and procedures.
